The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year, when the sun reaches its lowest point in the sky.
Since prehistoric times, this moment has been honoured with festivals and mid-winter rituals—celebrations of the turning point when the diminishing daylight reverses and the hours of sunshine begin to grow again.
Just 25 minutes from our British Headquarters stands Stonehenge, the prehistoric circle of massive sarsen stones aligned with the sunrise at the Summer Solstice and the sunset at the Winter Solstice. It’s a place we’ve visited many times, and one we love to share with guests when they come to the UK.
These fabrics, each brushed with metallic accents, are our own tribute to the Winter Solstice.
